Minimum Requirements to Apply for the Broker Exam and License To obtain a real estate broker license, you must first qualify for and pass a written examination. Those who pass the examination are provided a license application which must be submitted to and approved by the DRE. For complete statutory requirements and qualification patterns, see Instructions to License Applicants . Age : To apply for a license, you must be 18 years of age or older. Residence : License applicants must provide Proof of Legal Presence in the U.S. If not a California resident, see Out-of-State Applicants . Honesty : License applicants must be honest and truthful. Conviction of a crime may result in the denial of a license. Failure to disclose any criminal violation or disciplinary action in an applicant's entire history may also result in the denial of a license. Experience : A minimum of two years full-time licensed salesperson experience within the last five years or the equivalent is required. Education : Applicants for a real estate broker license examination must have successfully completed the following eight statutorily required college-level courses: Real Estate Practice Legal Aspects of Real Estate Real Estate Finance Real Estate Appraisal Real Estate Economics or Accounting And three* courses from the following group: Real Estate Principles Business Law Property Management Escrows Real Estate Office Administration Mortgage Loan Brokering and Lending Advanced Legal Aspects of Real Estate Advanced Real Estate Finance Advanced Real Estate Appraisal Computer Applications in Real Estate Common Interest Developments * If both Real Estate Economics and Accounting are taken, only two courses from the above group are required. Continuing education offerings do not satisfy the college-level course requirements for this examination. Each college-level course must be a minimum of three semester-units or four quarter-units. The courses must be completed prior to being scheduled for an examination. Copies of official transcripts are generally acceptable evidence of completed courses. Transcripts of other courses, submitted as an equivalent course of study in lieu of the statutory courses, must be accompanied by an official course or catalog description in order to be evaluated. Broker qualification courses must be completed at an institution of higher learning accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges or by a comparable regional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education, or by a private real estate school which has had its courses approved by the California Real Estate Commissioner. Courses completed through foreign institutions of higher learning must be evaluated by a foreign credentials evaluation service approved by the Department of Real Estate. NOTE: Applicants who have completed the eight college-level courses statutorily required for the broker examination and license are eligible to take the salesperson examination without providing further evidence of education or experience. Property Listing Department keeps

Property Listing Property Listing Department Home Departments SERVICES PROVIDED To fulfill its mission, the Property Listing Department keeps ownership records current for all Marinette County property by processing recorded documents which effect title to property and updating the data base on those records. In conjunction with this procedure, property maps are drafted by geographic location and kept current with regard to property boundaries. This information is used by the assessor as a tool in assessing property under his jurisdiction, and also by interested parties that have title to or an interest in the land. Secondly, the Property Listing Department verifies and enters into the data base the information which is needed to produce the real estate and personal property assessment rolls, tax rolls, and tax bills. The office also orders and distributes all state-mandated assessment and taxation forms. Background Prior to 1946, all of Marinette County's assessment rolls, tax rolls, and tax bills were handwritten and manually calculated by the taxation district assessors, clerks, and treasurers. In 1945 the first Addressograph machine was purchased, and in 1946 the assessment rolls, tax rolls, and tax bills were produced on that equipment. However, all numeric entries, as well as all mathematical calculations, remained the responsibility of the local taxation district officials. In 1981, Marinette County purchased its first computer. In 1982, computer programs were written to contain land information data, and in 1983 the Property Listing Department began to enter parcel data into the data base. By year end 1983, 13 of our 25 districts had computer generated rolls and bills. By 1984, the parcel information for all 25 districts had been entered, and that year, for the first time in Marinette County history, 40,995 tax bills were produced using computer technology, thereby eliminating manual mathematical calculations and numeric entries. Since that time, those computer programs have been enhanced to include additional data. The goal of the department is to have parcel information available via the internet by 2005. Using the Real Estate License Status Inquiry Screen If you enter a name (and, optionally, the city), click on the find button to advance to an index of licensees who satisfy your search criteria. The license identification number, name, license type and city as contained in the mailing address of record, are displayed in the index. This information is provided to help you select the license record you are seeking. If you click on the license I.D. number from the name index or if you use the license I.D. search from the first screen, you will migrate to the final screen that displays the public information available for that licensee such as the license expiration date, status, salesperson associates, office addresses and corporate affiliations. The information presented reflects the license records of the DRE at the time of your inquiry; however, it will not reflect pending updates which are being processed by the Department. Helpful Hints Mark the search page with a "bookmark" or "favorite" indicator so that you can initiate search requests from your own menu. Review the search tips above, especially when you receive a "no record" reply. Review the supplemental explanations of status and comment descriptions available on the public information page. Out-of-Date License Information If your license record reflects information which is no longer current (wrong address, employing broker, etc.), you can use the eLicensing online system to update your license record immediately. Or, you may notify the DRE using the appropriate change request form: Salesperson Change Application ( RE 214 ) Broker Change Application ( RE 204 ) Corporation Change Application ( RE 204A ) Prior to submitting your change application, please review Tips for a Smooth Licensing Transaction . Depending on the change being requested, the approximate processing time frame for paper applications is 4 to 6 weeks. Actions Against Unlicensed Persons The Department publishes monthly a list of names of persons and businesses which have been found to have been conducting real estate activities without a license.
