The current County Clerk, Beverly Kaufman, was appointed to the office on March 11, 1994 and was elected to a full four-year term in November 1994 by sixty-one percent (61.3%) and re-elected in 1998 and 2002. She employs 311 regular employees and an additional 400 temporary employees during county election cycles. Her annual budget is approximately $24 million and she collects revenues through fees for numerous services provided such as property record filings, issuing marriage licenses, and processing court documents.
