All the books we had read advised us to rent before buying, but none of them really explained what to do. This book has a great chapter explaining tenant's rights and telling us how to protect ourselves when we come to leave. What I like also is the information on how to settle, both the details about what is available for Brits in France, and how to settle within the French community - the author has clearly lived in France for some time. Anyone wanting to buy in France should take a look at the details about the many areas affected by flooding and termites, not to mention the subsidence in Normandy.
