These days more history is in the making with the construction of additional Light Rail lines and the infamous T-REX the construction project we all love to hate. As a commuter myself, I love watching the road change each week as they progress continues. It won't be long before it is done and we will be one more step into a modern future far from the Wild West Frontier Days of the past. Denver Economy Denver's diverse economy in a variety of industries make a home in Colorado; telecommunications, aerospace, financial services, computer software, biomedical and many other high tech sectors offer employment here. Major employers in Denver include Comcast, Level 3 Communications, Qwest Communications, Lockheed Martin, Xcel Energy and Sun Microsystems. Metropolitan Denver doubled in population from 1960 to 2000. The actual growth rate was 2.4%.
