He wrote a book that is padded to the hilt with useless information fo fund it. If you want to know what the weather or the people in Spain are like then you can read about it in this book. The amount of helpful information about buying property in Spain can be found in about 2 pages, information that you would probably find online. Seriously don't waste your money by buying this book, save it for your house in Spain. None of the other books I considered explain the legal documents involved in buying a Spanish property quite as clearly. The sample documents helped me to understand what was asked of me. As somebody who has never dealt with Spanish solicitors and agents before, I was glad to get a low-down on what they do and what to look out for from this book. Otherwise I would urge you not to waste your time or money by buying this book - I made the mistake so you don't have to! The style of writing is amateurish to say the least, the layout has obviously been designed by someone that's just bought some new software and wants to use all it's features at once, the content is shallow and next to useless as a guide to buying property. All in all I am amazed that this book ever made it into print, it really shouldn't have. I've only given it one star as it's not possible to give none! The book deals with all aspects of buying and all the legal side of a purchase in spain, and all the strange spainsh laws that us English do not understand,such as checking that the property has no debts attatched to it or if you buy and it has YOU are responsable for them. This book is well written,and in most part (not the law side)very easy to understand ,and has informed me of a lot of things i did not know which is very valuable when you are spending a lot of your hard earned cash on a purchase in a different contry with such uncommon laws,i would highly recommend this book if you are considering a place in the sun. I look so forward each month to my new issue. I am buying a subscription for my best friend this Christmas. I also planned my entire Christmas dinner party two nights ago by their suggestions and it was a huge hit. The ads really are a plus- not a negative element! That's the design ethic portrayed. Some of the articles are rather clever, and the projects- making a switchplate from a beercan, or building a stylish garden building for $1500- are often novel and useful. They're not all winnners, of course; some project ideas are pretty awful. And as others have noted, much of the content is devoted to mindless fashion slavery and buying. ( La información en español ) Statutes and Regulatory Commentary Home Equity Commentary : In 1997, the Texas legislature passed a constitutional amendment allowing for home equity loans. In response to this new type of loan, a group of Texas state agencies got together and developed the Home Equity Commentary. This document expresses the enforcement positions adopted by the Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner, Department of Banking, Savings and Loan Department, and the Credit Union Department. Updated: In response to the constitutional amendment allowing home equity lines of credit (voted in by Texans on September 13, 2003), the OCCC worked with the other Finance Commission agencies (Department of Banking and Savings & Loan Department) and with the Credit Union Commission to develop additional administrative interpretations . Article 16, Section 50 : This 1997 amendment to the Texas Constitution established home equity regulations. Section 50 was further amended in September 2003 to allow for home equity-based lines of credit. Chapter 342.G of Texas Finance Code : This chapter sets forth the regulations concerning interest and other charges on secondary mortgages and home improvement loans. Home Equity Modification Interpretation Letter : This letter was issued jointly by the Finance Commission of Texas agencies in response to a request for interpretation.
